Privacy Policy

Who we are

Meditation Beyond is provided by Joel Caplan. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Meditation Beyond app or website.

What information we collect

  • Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and a secure authentication token managed by our auth provider.
  • Subscription information: Payments and billing are handled by Paddle. We receive only your subscription status and the plan you purchased — not your full payment details.
  • What you save and use: We store the mixes and presets you save, your plan record, and simple records of how the app has been used (for example, session counts) so the free and paid tiers work as intended.
  • What we do not collect: We do not run analytics or crash reporting, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not collect a unique device identifier.

How we use your information

  • To provide and maintain the Meditation Beyond service.
  • To process subscriptions and manage your account.
  • To improve app performance, features, and reliability.
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse.

Who we share data with

We share limited data only with trusted service providers who help us operate the app:

  • Paddle — our Merchant of Record for payments, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
  • Hosting provider — for running the app's servers and storing your account and saved mixes.
  • Professional advisers — when necessary for legal, accounting, or compliance purposes.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or third parties.

Data retention

We keep your personal data only as long as needed to provide the service, maintain your account, or meet legal requirements. When no longer needed, your data is deleted or anonymized.

Your rights

You can delete your account and everything saved to it at any time, right inside the app: sign in, open the Billing page, and choose “Delete my account” in the Account section. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, restrict, or export your personal data. You can delete your account and everything saved to it yourself, any time, from the Billing page — the steps are on our Account deletion page. To make any other request, email us at jcmactooth@gmail.com.

Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — including encryption and access controls — to protect your data.

Cookies and tracking

We use only essential cookies required for the app to function. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page, and we will update the "Last updated" date at the top.
